India is a sovereign nation in South Asia.

It is the seventh largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the largest democracy in the world.

The Indian economy, the twelfth largest in the world, has grown steadily over the last twenty years. It has the world's second largest labour pool, with over 500 million available workers. Sixty percent of these workers are employed in agriculture related occupations.

Recently, India has capitalized on its large pool of educated, English-speaking people, and trained professionals to become an important outsourcing destination for multinational corporations.

It has also become a major exporter of software as well as financial, research, and technological services.

It is country rich in natural resources including chromite, bauxite, coal, diamonds, iron ore, limestone, manganese, mica, natural gas, petroleum, and titanium ore.

The real estate market is growing rapidly in India, and it's beginning to attract big money. It is estimated that investors will pour another $4 billion-$6 billion in 2008 into property funds with India being the main focus.

The Indian stock market, SENSEX, has been steadily rising for the past couple of years, with a few dips here and there. The long-term outlook appears to be bullish.
