Certificates of Deposit are traditionally used as investment vehicles that offer 100% safety. They are are insured in the USA up to $100,000 by the FDIC.

Because of the high level of safety, they generally offer low return rates.

However, an investor can take advantage of International CD rates.

I have isolated a CD that pays about 8.91%, located in a country that has the fourth highest per capita income in the world, at $54,858.

This country has no national debt, and the government is considered the least corrupt in all of the world.

Their currency rose 10% against the US Dollar last year. Combine that with the 12% interest rate paid on the CD and you have a total return of 22% on an investment that is gauranteed by their government.

The only downside to this investment, is the possibility of the dollar strengthening by more than 12% against this country's currency.

Although I believe the dollar will eventually stop falling in value, I do not believe that it is set to rise anytime soon.

If you have extra investment income and wish to be more aggressive, then this could very well be what you are looking for.

The risk to reward ratio is impressive here. The only danger is the currency fluctuation.

There is a specific Bank here in the USA that offers these CD's as part of their investment choices. This particular institution is easy to contact and is located in a major metropolitan area in the midwest.
